Mrs Madge Fisher sadly died on the 4th May 2006. She had been an ardent supporter of the band, almost from the beginning of the bands formation. Madge supported her husband Len throughout many years in his role as President. When Len died in the late 1980’s, Madge was asked to succeed her late husband as President and carried out the role with pride and passion.

Since becoming the band’s President she took an active role at committee meetings and acted as host to many guests at countless band functions.

Despite her advancing years, Madge was still in regular attendance to band rehearsals up until last year. She was always happy to sit and watch the band rehearse and was extremely fond of the band members and had an affinity for the ex-members of the band.

She will always be remembered with affection by generations of Romford band members both past and present and will be sadly missed.
